FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What Size Dish Do I Require ?
The simplest answer to that question is that the further away from the UK you are, the
bigger the dish required. Unfortunately like everything else in life its not quite that simple.
The footprint of the satellite (where the transmission signal hits the earth) is an odd shape,
therefore different areas in Europe will receive different signals. In some areas the signal
will be stronger than others and in these parts a smaller dish could be used. In others a
weaker signal would mean having to use a bigger dish.
Some areas receive a stronger signal throughout the day but this weakens as the day
progresses meaning a loss of some viewing channels in the evening. A bigger dish is
advised for continuous viewing.
Shown below is chart advising what we consider to be the most appropriate dish size to
use based upon our experience in Europe.
(Certain "HOT SPOTS" exist that allow a smaller dish than shown below.)

2. Do I need a viewing card to view BBC, ITV, C4, C5 etc ?
At present to view BBC, ITV, C4, C5 a viewing card is NOT required.
To view these channels a FREESAT RECIEVER or SKY digital box will show these channels.
To View FIVER, FIVEUSA which are only presently available (nov09) through a Sky digital box,
order a FREE TO AIR CARD at 100euros or to subscribe to a sky monthly package
from (which we will arrange for you).

3. Do I need to Connect my HD Sky+ or SKY+ plus or Sky Box to a telephone line ?
All Sky Receivers supplied by BRIT-SAT are NON-CONTRACT boxes. This means that
although you may have noticed these boxes are little dearer than what may be
available in the UK, the reason is that they have been purchased outright as
NON-CONTRACT units and DO NOT need to be connected to a telephone line.
Obviously outside of the UK it is not possible to connect via a UK land line and in
the event that you have a box from the UK that is less than 12months old or still
under a subsidy via SKY, if you do not have a UK land line connection your viewing
box will be switched off via SKY and be unusable outside of the UK. Be assured
that boxes get switched OFF on a regular basis due to customers supplying
subsidised boxes from the UK. You can rest assured that by purchasing one of our
NON-CONTRACT boxes your viewing will remain uninterrupted with our GUARANTEE
of continual viewing.
Note: We are quite happy to fit your own supplied Sky receiver on the understanding
that should the unit get switched off this would be outside of our control.

4. MAIL ORDER DELIVERIES & WARRANTEE

All Britsat purchases are normally despatched within 24hrs Mon-Friday subject to payment
either being received or authorised.

Products are Warranted on a return to base basis for a period of one year or as
stated from the date of purchase.

(excepting projectors which carry a longer warrantee period, see web site)

Delivery is normally made by courier or local postal service subject to order selection.

In Spain please allow 5 working days for delivery.

Outside of Spain we suggest that at least 10 working days are allowed for delivery.

Any items purchased that have been supplied in any way incorrectly by ourselves
will be replaced free of charge.

Items supplied correctly wishing to be returned for credit will be subject to a 20%
re stocking fee. Please contact us first by e-mail for a returns number as any items
returned with out a returns authorisation number will be declined upon delivery.

Shipping costs and charges including any local taxes or customs duty, if applicable
to be payable by the purchaser.

5. Installations outside of Tarragona Area

Although our main installation area is from Tarragona to Amposta and Inland to Mora De Ebro,
we are more than happy to install systems outside of this area. Please contact us for a quotation.
Our average price per km is approx 0.40cents.
